Upper Colorado Environmental Plant Center

Established 1975

The Upper Colorado Environmental Plant Center in Meeker, Colorado finds conservation solutions for the diverse landscape of the High Plains. The Center is working on projects that help stabilize mine spoils and roadsides, improve grazing lands in the cold desert, restore riparian zones, and improve water quality on agricultural and industrial lands. The Center has released a dozen conservation plants including Garnet Germplasm mountain brome, ‘Hobble Creek’ big sagebrush and ‘Maybell Source’ antelope bitterbrush.
